About Bushnell binoculars
Discover Bushnell binoculars, ideal for birdwatching, nature observation, and hunting. With a legacy of quality, the Bushnell brand offers a range of binoculars designed to meet the diverse needs of optical enthusiasts.
The History of the Bushnell Brand
In 1947, 34-year-old David Bushnell left California to deliver steel by ship to Hong Kong. There, he was surprised to see many people walking around with binoculars around their necks. In 1948, during his honeymoon in Japan, David Bushnell was able to purchase his first 400 binoculars to resell at Christmas. Thus, the Bushnell company was born with the goal of providing high-performance binoculars at an affordable price. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the most respected brands in the field of observation.
How to Choose Your Bushnell Binoculars?
With numerous models such as Forge, Trophy Xtreme, Engage, and H2O, it can be difficult to choose the right one for you. To help, here are the criteria to consider:
- Eyepiece: The eyepiece is an important criterion, as it determines the magnification of the image for your eyes. Bushnell models offer two types of eyepiece: aligned with the lens (roof prism) and offset from the lens (Porro prism).
- Focusing: Focusing can vary depending on the model. Some models offer permanent focus (Permafocus) for more convenient and rapid use.
- Visual Clarity: Bushnell binoculars are renowned for their visual clarity thanks to XTR technology, which enhances light transmission up to 90%.
- Durability: Most Bushnell models are equipped with Dura-Grip rubber armor. They are ideal for use in extreme conditions.
Frequently asked questions about Bushnell binoculars
How do I choose the right model?
Start with your intended use and budget, then compare magnification, weight, field of view and close focus. Compact models are easier to carry; larger objectives take up more space. Specifications vary by model.
Are all Bushnell binoculars waterproof?
No. Check the model’s stated water resistance and the limits in its manual. Splash resistance does not mean it can be submerged. Features of one range do not apply to the whole brand.
Can I use them while wearing glasses?
Check eye relief and eyecup adjustment. With glasses, eyecups are usually lowered. Comfort depends on the model and your glasses.
How do I get a single, sharp image?
Adjust the distance between the barrels until you see one circular field. Then adjust focus and, if fitted, the dioptre control as described in the manual. Ask for advice if double vision persists.
Which model is suitable for a child?
Look for low weight, easy handling and a minimum interpupillary distance that fits the child’s eyes. Compact size alone does not guarantee a good fit. Tell us the child’s age and intended use for advice.
How do I care for them and find the manual?
Remove dust before gently wiping the lenses with a suitable optical cloth. Store the binoculars dry in their case and follow the manual for your specific model.
